An unmeasured carbon footprint
Most websites have never had their carbon output measured. If you're publicly committed to sustainability, a bloated site is a credibility gap anyone can find.
A low-carbon, WCAG 2.2 AA accessible brochure site for ethical SMEs who are tired of slow, bloated websites that don't reflect who they are. Built with Astro and Sanity. Ships with published Lighthouse scores and a carbon rating at handover - no vague claims, just numbers.
You've spent real time and money getting your operations right. Ethical sourcing, fair employment, B Corp certification. Then someone Googles you and lands on a slow, bloated site that was bodged together five years ago and hasn't been touched since.
That gap is visible. To customers, to partners, to anyone who cares about the things you say you care about.
Your website should reflect the standard you hold everything else to, not undermine it.

A brand built around inclusion and equity, running a website that fails basic accessibility standards. It's a contradiction that's hard to explain.
Slow page loads, poor mobile experience, broken fonts on some browsers. Visitors judge your organisation in the first three seconds, before they read a word.
The brochure site is for ethical SMEs, B Corps, and purpose-led founders who need a clean, fast, credible web presence and want proof it performs at launch, not promises that it will.
It's built for organisations that need 5–10 pages: home, about, services, contact, and a few more. If you need a publishing platform or online shop, those are separate services. If you need a site that reflects who you actually are, this is it.
This is the right fit if:

Every brochure site build includes strategy, design, development, and deployment. You get a site that's fast, accessible, and built to last - not a launch-day vanity metric that degrades over time.
Audience research, competitor review, and a clear site structure before a single line of code is written. We decide what pages you need and why, not just how many.
Copy is prepared before the build begins, either supplied by you or developed together, grounded in audience language and keyword research. Wireframes show structure and flow before design decisions are made.
A considered visual design that reflects your brand - accessible colour contrast, clean hierarchy, no decorative bloat. Built for people, not awards juries.
Static-first Astro architecture means pages are pre-rendered and served from Cloudflare's global edge - no server, no wait, minimal carbon. Sanity gives you a clean CMS you can actually use.
Not a checkbox exercise. Every page is tested against WCAG 2.2 AA, the legal standard in the UK, because an ethical brand whose website excludes people with disabilities has a values gap anyone can see.
Keyword-targeted page titles, meta descriptions, structured data (Service, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage schemas), and clean URL structure - all implemented from day one, not bolted on later.
Hosted on Cloudflare Pages - global edge delivery, free SSL, automatic deployments, and no server to babysit. Staging on Vercel for review before anything goes live.
Every project ships with published Lighthouse scores (performance, accessibility, best practices, SEO) and a website carbon rating. Real numbers, not marketing language.
A recorded walkthrough of your Sanity CMS so your team can update content without calling anyone. No dependency on a developer for day-to-day edits.
Most agencies claim they build sustainable websites. Very few explain what that actually means technically. Here's why Astro produces measurably lower carbon output than a WordPress build doing the same job.
Astro pre-renders pages at build time. When someone visits your site, they're served a static HTML file, no server-side computation, no database query, no PHP execution. Every dynamic WordPress page request burns server energy. Astro doesn't.
Astro ships zero JavaScript to the browser unless explicitly added. A typical WordPress page with a popular page builder can send 300–700kb of JavaScript before a line of your content is visible. Astro sites typically ship under 10kb of JS. Lighter pages = faster loads = less energy consumed per visit.
Hosted on Cloudflare Pages - a global edge network that serves your site from the location closest to each visitor. Less distance travelled by data means less energy used. Cloudflare also runs on 100% renewable energy.
Sanity is a headless CMS - it stores and delivers content via API, separately from your website. No plugin bloat, no theme overhead, no rendering engine running on every page load. Your editors get a clean interface; your visitors get a fast page.
You'll speak to me in the intro call. I'll handle strategy, design, and build. Copy is prepared before the build begins - either supplied by you or developed together. No account managers, no handoffs, no surprises.
30 minutes. We talk about your brand, your audience, what's not working, and what you need. If we're a good fit, I'll follow up with next steps.
Audience research, keyword research, competitor review, and sitemap. Every decision at this stage has a reason behind it and I'll explain each one.
Wireframes first, then design, then build. Staged on Vercel for review before anything moves to production. No surprises at handover.
Deployed to Cloudflare. Lighthouse scores and carbon rating published. CMS walkthrough recorded. You own everything: domain, code and content. No lock-in.

Every brochure site includes:
A low-carbon website minimises the energy consumed every time a visitor loads a page. This comes down to page weight, how the site is rendered, and where it's hosted. Joontide's static-first Astro architecture produces measurably lower per-visit emissions than equivalent WordPress builds - verified via Website Carbon ratings at launch.
WCAG 2.2 AA is the current legal standard for most UK organisations - covering contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and more. Joontide meets AA on every build as a minimum. It's also a differentiator: very few agencies take accessibility this seriously as standard.
Typically 6–8 weeks from brief to launch. Solo builds move faster than agency projects because there's no handoff between strategy, design, and development teams - it's one person doing all three.
You get a CMS walkthrough recording and full ownership of everything - code, content, domain. For ongoing support and content editing, the Editor and Creator plans are available. The site doesn't disappear into a void after handover.
Generally yes. You're paying for the work, not the structure around it - no account managers, no handoff overhead, no agency margin. Joontide's starting prices are published so you can assess fit before making an enquiry.
Yes. Sanity is a clean, intuitive CMS - non-technical editors can update copy, images, and page content without touching code. A recorded training walkthrough is included with every build.
